Diffusers
The Vortex™ Diffuser insert is a vital component of the Lobestar® Mixing Eductor™. Although the insert is a single piece, it can be divided into three functional sections. First, the parabolic converging section centralizes the flow from the nozzle into the venturi throat. The unique parabolic shape allows a higher concentration of powder to be drawn in and a higher volume of fluid to enter the venturi throat with a more streamlined flow. Second, the venturi throat increases the flow velocity, creating a low pressure area and strong vacuum in the mixing chamber. Lastly, the diffuser section evenly diffuses the fluid flow, maximizing pressure recovery downstream from the eductor.

The standard Vortex™ Diffuser insert is manufactured in high density, abrasion resistant urethane. For optimal performance, we recommend the replacement of the Vortex Diffuser every 18 months when mixing abrasive fluids such as drilling mud.

Lobestar Mixing Eductor Diffusers are available in a wide variety of materials, including stainless steel, Kynar®, Teflon®, PVC, polypropylene, UHMW and tungsten carbide.
