Tank Mixing Application general description:
| 1. Tank dimensions: |
| What is the total working volume of the mixing or batch tank? ( Please note in gallons or cubic meters. ) (*) |
Invalid Input |
Tank shape: (*) |
Invalid Input |
If other, please explain. |
Invalid Input |
For round tank(s): |
| Height ( Please note in feet or meters ) |
Invalid Input |
| Diameter ( Please note in feet or meters ) |
Invalid Input |
For rectangular or square tank(s)? |
| Height ( Please note in feet or meters ) |
Invalid Input |
| Length ( Please note in feet or meters ) |
Invalid Input |
| Width ( Please note in feet or meters ) |
Invalid Input |
What type of bottom does the tank have? (*) |
Invalid Input |
2. Fluid being mixed in tank? (*)
( Water, drilling fluid, diesel, oil, etc.? ) |
Invalid Input |
3. Is stainless steel construction required?
Standard Radial Eductors are constructed in high density, abrasion resistant urethane. |
Invalid Input |
4. What is the desired volume turnover rate in the tank? ( Please note in X's per Hours and/or Minutes. ) (*)
(Reactor tanks require a turnover rate of 4 times per minute or more. Storage tanks may require much lower turnover rates of 1 to 2 times per hour to prevent stratification. ) |
Invalid Input |
5. Fluid Properties: |
Viscosity (ranges are acceptable) (*)
Centipoise (cp) (water = 1cp; Vegetable oil = 35 cp; Mayonnaise = 5000cp) |
Invalid Input |
Density ( Ranges are acceptable. ) (*)
Specific gravity (specific gravity = weight of one gallon of blended fluid divided by the weight in lbs by 8.33 or divide the weight in kg by 3.77) |
Invalid Input |
Max Fluid Temp ( Please note in ºF or ºC. ) (*)
(Standard urethane Radial Eductors are good to 160 ºF or 71 ºC. Higher temperatures may require stainless steel Snub Eductors.) |
Invalid Input |
6. Does the fluid temperature have a great effect on the fluid viscosity? |
Invalid Input |
| If so, please give a viscosity range that corresponds with the fluid temperature range in the tank. |
At lowest temp of ( in ºC ) |
Invalid Input |
| Fluid viscosity is ( in Cp ) |
Invalid Input |
At the highest temp ( in ºC ) |
Invalid Input |
| Fluid viscosity is ( in Cp ) |
Invalid Input |
7. Will the fluid in the tank require aeration or gas vapor entrainment
We offer special radial eductors that will allow for an air inlet. |
Invalid Input |
8. What is the location of the tank suction for the circulating pump? |
Invalid Input |
9. Is there an existing piping layout or a manifold in the tank? (*) |
Invalid Input |
If so, please provide a drawing or sketch for review. |
Invalid Input |
If not, is a recommended general arrangement required? |
Invalid Input |
10. What type and size of connections are required? (*) |
Invalid Input |
11. Are there any manways present in the tank? |
Invalid Input |
12. Will mechanical agitators be used inside the tank along with the eductors? |
Invalid Input |
If so, please provide information on the throw pattern of the agitators. If so, please provide information on the throw pattern of the agitators. This information will be used to make the best recommendation for placement of the eductors.
Invalid Input |
13. Will the tank be used for any type of equipment storage when it is not in service?
This will affect any in tank manifold layout recommendations. |
Invalid Input |
14. Are there any bends, elbows, butterfly valves, etc. in the suction line from the tank? |
Invalid Input |
How many of each are in the line? ( More obstructions increase risk of pump cavitation. ) |
| 90º Elbows |
Invalid Input |
| 45º Elbows |
Invalid Input |
| Valves |
Invalid Input |
If possible, please provide a sketch, diagram, or P&ID of your current tank layout for the best recommendation. |
Invalid Input |
Pump(s) Specifications (IMPORTANT): Radial Eductors have no moving parts. Supplying adequate pump pressure and flow volume to energize them is critical to proper function.
If you do not already have a pump, would you like us to recommend one? |
Invalid Input |
If yes, please provide the following information about your system. ( Please note that any pump recommendation is an estimate and is not a guarantee supported by engineering. ) |
What is the total pipe length from the pump to the mixing eductor? |
| Horizontal Pipe Length ( Please note in feet or meters. ) |
Invalid Input |
| Vertical Pipe Length ( Please note in feet or meters. ) |
Invalid Input |
What is the total pipe length from the mixing eductor to the discharge point? |
| Horizontal Pipe Length ( Please note in feet or meters. ) |
Invalid Input |
| Vertical Pipe Length ( Please note in feet or meters. ) |

Notes:
1) Our tank mixing Radial Eductors have no moving parts. Correct pump sizing with consideration for fluid density and friction loss through pipes is critical. Improper pump selection is the main culprit for the prevention of optimal performance of our Radial Eductors.
