The Horizontal Mixing Head is a mixing device designed for continuous diluting and mixing large volumes of drilling fluid to the desired fluid density while drilling. The Horizontal Mixing Head uses Lobestar® Jet Nozzles™ that generate strong vortices producing turbulence in each multiple fluid stream as they converge at the center of the mixing chamber, providing a homogeneous mixture.

- Flexibility in design provides optimum mixing capabilities whether mixing bentonite or barite, or mixing on the fly during riserless drilling

After the initial phase of “mixing-on-the-fly” is completed, the Horizontal Mixing Head can be used to enhance the drilling fluid properties and maintain fluid stability. This is accomplished by pumping the drilling fluid through the mixer to induce additional dynamic shearing during chemical treatments.
