Lobestar Mixing Nozzle Graphic

“LET THE NOZZLE DO THE WORK”
Effective blending and mixing are an essential part of everyday operations in most process industries. In these applications the requirement may vary but the ultimate achievement is, generally, to have a homogenous product. The Vortex Mixing Nozzle is effective in performing more than one function with superb capability; suspending solids in a liquid, blending, emulsifying liquids, dissolving polymers, powders and granular materials in a liquid environment.
Mixing Nozzle Pressure Distribution Graphic The unique internal geometry of the Vortex Mixing Nozzle™ generates multiple jet streams that emerge from the nozzle orifice. Each jet stream has an individual core with oscillating vortex rings expanding into a plume. The plume entrains the surrounding liquid and folds the mixture into low pressure regions. Standard Vortex Mixing Nozzles provide excellent performance in pressure ranges: 30 to 100 psi. High pressure nozzles are available upon request.
The LOBESTAR® orifice configuration in the Vortex Mixing Nozzle™ generates a plume of both axial and radial vortices that interact with surrounding fluids, providing intimate mixing.

The pressure profile indicates that the issuing vortices from a circular orifice are rotating uniformly at the same velocity, therefore providing very little mixing action. Refer to fig 1-A. The pressure profile of the Vortex Jet Nozzle, with the same orifice area as the circular nozzle, generates turbulent low and high pressure cells producing dynamic folding and stretching that leads to high energy mixing. Refer to fig 2-A
