Bridging, plugging and “rat-holing” occur when powders uniformly compact in the conical section of surge tanks and silos.

The V-SLIDE SURGE HOPPER provides a continuous and uniform “mass flow” of powders and granular materials. This is accomplished by the internal geometric configuration. The elliptic shaped lobes in the V-SLIDE relieve the circumferential stress points and causes the material to flow freely without outside assistance.

The image above shows the V-Slide Surge Hopper location in a typical Oil Industry mud mixing application. The assembly also deploys two DUAL SUCTION LOBESTAR® SHEAR MIXERS, two RADIAL PREMIXERS, two FULLVIEW™ SIGHTGLASSES and a SURGE TANK.
