The RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II is an innovative, patented tank mixer that offers versatility and flexibility in many liquid applications. The RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II provides a simple method in uniformly mixing, circulating and suspending tank volumes without "Dead-spots". The mixer is an efficient means of energy conservation. The volume output is four times the motive fluid input.

In operation, a pressurized fluid flow is converted to a high velocity stream as it passes through a unique mixing nozzle. The high velocity generates a low-pressure region. The geometrical arrangement of the helical inductors starts a mass rotational movement as the surrounding fluid is drawn into the helical inductors. The production of large and small vortices issuing in a high velocity plume entrains more liquid as the RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II circulation process continues.

Most systems can be designed with optional prefabricated piping sections and connections. The installation of the RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II can be completed without personnel entry. A flanged opening with only a minimum diameter of 10 inches is required for most installations.

SAFETY FEATURES:

Flanged installation without the need for plant personnel entering the tank. Easy outside access for inspection. No expensive, emergency safety shutoff devices for tank drainage. The RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II has no seals which makes it environmentally safe against hazardous material leaks.

The Helical Inductors can be extended in length to reach difficult contact areas.

The geometrical arrangement of the inductors start a mass rotational movement as the surrounding fluid is drawn into the mixing chamber.

Comparison Between Radial Eductor and Impeller

Conventional impeller type mixers limit the circulation to a localized area at a low rate of volume turnover. This often promotes material buildup in corners of tanks and requires a separate external piece of equipment.

The existing pump that is used for tank loading and unloading can be used to recycle material from the tank to pressurize the RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II. The pump can be centrifugal or positive displacement. Leak-proof pumps, such as mag drive and canned types, will provide a virtual leak proof system for safely mixing and transferring hazardous liquids.

The unique design of the RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II. provides helical induction ports. These ports can be piped to the outside of the tank through the mounting flange. One or more of the helical inductors can be used to induct a secondary liquid or powder from bags or containers. The RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II produces a near-perfect vacuum eliminating the need for a portable pump. The strong suction will also eliminate physically pouring additive through the hatch.

The tank volume turnover rate is four times the pressurized feed rate.

The LOBESTAR® NOZZLE in the RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II enhances mixing in generating large scale and micro scale turbulence that will rapidly mix powder(s) with a liquid for a uniformly blended product. The RADIAL EDUCTOR™ II provides dynamic shearing that will stabilize an emulsion.

New tank installations and retrofits. Standard 10" 150# tank flange. A manifold design and orientation for any tank configuration.
The selected size of the radial eductor for a retrofit can be determined by the existing circulating pump capability.
Standard material of construction is 316 stainless steel. Available in Urethane, Kynar, Hastelloy and other materials for aggressive chemicals.
