| Lobestar®
Mixing Nozzles |
 |
Effective
blending and mixing are an essential part of everyday operations in
most process industries. In these applications the requirement may
vary but the ultimate achievement is, generally, to have a homogenous
product. The Vortex Mixing Nozzle is effective in performing more
than one function with superb capability; suspending solids in a liquid,
blending, emulsifying liquids, dissolving polymers, powders and granular
materials in a liquid environment... |

Mixing Eductors |
 |
The
term "Eductor" describes a jet pump without moving parts
and utilizes fluid in motion to produce low pressure. Motive power
is provided by a centrifugal or gear pump. The pressurized fluid stream
is converted from pressure-energy to high velocity as the fluid enters
a unique nozzle configuration, known as the LOBESTAR® NOZZLE.
The issuing high velocity jet stream produces a strong suction in
the mixing chamber of the LOBESTAR® MIXING EDUCTOR, causing a
powder, granular material or a secondary fluid to be drawn through
a suction port into the mixing chamber of the LOBESTAR® MIXING
EDUCTOR... |

Mixing Eductors (Alternate Materials for Wear, Corrosion Resistance
and Sanitary Applications) |
 |
Effective
blending and mixing are an essential part of everyday operations in
most industrial process industries. Specific application requirements
may vary but the ultimate achievement is to have a homogenous product.
The LOBESTAR® Mixing Eductor is effective in speed mixing most
powders and granular materials without the inherent problem of fisheyes
or microgels. LOBESTAR®
MIXING EDUCTORS
are available in special materials, such as KYNAR® and UHMW. KYNAR®
is one of the most stable commercial resins. KYNAR® resists strong
acids, solvents and reducing agents... |
| Radial
Eductor (Tank Eductors) |
 |
The
Radial Eductor is a high volume EDUCTOR using the LOBESTAR® power
jet to produce high turbulence. A centrifugal pump is used to pressurize
the Radial Eductor. Static pressure is converted to high velocity
as the slurry passes through the jet nozzle orifice. The high velocity
causes a region of low pressure. The motive flow pumped through the
jet nozzle draws in three times the volume pumped. Example: The flow
rate of an RE-2 (2") Model has a 7/8" nozzle orifice is
116 gpm @ 40 psi. The total mixed fluid is 464 gpm. The motive flow
rate of the jet nozzle draws three times its volume through
the inductors. This interaction prevents solids from settling at the
bottom and the corners of the tank... |

Radial Eductor II (Tank Eductor -316 Stainless Steel for Sanitary
and Corrosion Resistant Applications) |
 |
The
RADIAL EDUCTOR II is an innovative, patented tank mixer that
offers versatility and flexibility in many liquid applications. The
RADIAL EDUCTOR
II provides a simple method in uniformly mixing, circulating and suspending
tank volumes without "Dead-spots". The mixer is an efficient
means of energy conservation. The volume output is four times the
motive fluid input. The Radial Eductor II is fabricated from 316 Stainless
Steel. |
| Lobestar®
shear mixers |
 |
The
LOBESTAR® shear mixer is a combination of two major components
that are essential in providing rapid hydration, uniform dispersion
and fast delivery. The two components that make up the LOBESTAR®
shear mixer are; the RADIAL PREMIXER and the LOBESTAR® MIXING
EDUCTOR. This
combination of devices produce
turbulent mixing and dynamic shear. The results are rapid hydration,
uniform dispersion and fast delivery. |
| Lobestar®
shear mixers (Dual Suction) |
 |
Many
mixing and blending processes require a dual suction device. The Dual
Suction LOBESTAR® shear mixer efficiently meets the demanding
requirements for getting the most potential from a chemical product.
The
LOBESTAR® shear mixer is a combination of two major components
that are essential in providing rapid hydration, uniform dispersion
and fast delivery, the
RADIAL PREMIXER and the LOBESTAR® MIXING EDUCTOR. |
| Radial
Premixer (Annular Jet Pumps) |
 |
Pressurized
fluid enters the prewetting chamber of the RADIAL PREMIXER tangentially
and radiates outwardly to the wall of the mixing chamber. Powdered
materials are introduced through a chemical hopper and are drawn into
the eye of a strong vortex. As the particles are absorbed into the
spinning fluid, the centrifugal force moves the mixture outward providing
distance between particles as the wetting-out process
develops. The particle spreading caused by the centrifugal action
completely eliminates particle adhesion or clumping associated with
conventional mixing devices... |
| Radial
Premixer II (Annular Jet Pump-316 Stainless Steel) |
 |
The
Radial Premixer II is an Annular Jet Pump fabricated from 316 Stainless
Steel, meeting all sanitary application requirements. The gap between
the accelerator and internal wall is adjustable to accommodate variation
in fluid viscosities and flow rates. The particle spreading caused
by the centrifugal action completely eliminates particle adhesion
or clumping associated with conventional mixing devices... |
| Vortex
Mixing Head (Multi-Density Speed Mixer) |
 |
The VORTEX MIXING
HEAD is a mixing device designed for continuous diluting and mixing
large volumes of drilling fluid to the desired fluid density while
drilling.
Large volume diluting
and mixing "on-the-fly" simultaneously has shown significant
savings in time and space in deepwater drilling. Drilling fluids
are generally prepared at an onshore drilling fluids mixing plant
before shipment to a offshore rig site. The fluid density is typically
in the 16.0 - 17.0 lbs/gal ranged and diluted by a ratio of 2:1
or 3:1 while drilling...

| Spintop
Hydrocyclone (Cyclone Separator - Fluid Applications) |
 |
Hydrocyclones are
density separators that convert pressure energy into rotational
momentum. The rotational momentum provides the centrifugal force
to separate solids from a primary liquid.
The Spintop
Hydrocyclone has four outstanding features that are unique to conventional
Hydrocyclone. (1) Involuted feed, (2) a Bell shaped Vortex Finder,
(3) a Solid Center Core and (4) a Parabolic shaped body...

| Surge
Tanks, P-Tanks and Silos |
 |
The
VORTEX SURGE TANKS with optional accessories offer
many selections in tank capacities and configurations to
accommodate confined
spaces, existing pipe arrangement and
equipment location.
ASME code and non-code tanks
and vessels are available with various tank head and
cone section designs
for special applications... |
| Vortex
Booster Elbow (Booster Pump) |
 |
The
Vortex Booster Elbow is used to accelerate fluid velocities in pipe,
evacuating and cleaning plugged pipe and for dislodging and removing
sludge and sediment from a tank floor. |
| One-Step
Railcar Unloader |
 |
Chemical
process plants need a safe and dust-free method for unloading soluble
powders, flakes and granular materials from railcars. Generally, chemical
process plants use a complex, multiple-step gravity or pneumatic system
to convey dry materials from railcars to storage bins. The dry material
products will then require another process to convert the powder or
granular material into a usable slurry. Gravity and pneumatic systems
are inefficient in energy consumption and are environmentally unsafe
because of the inherent possibility of spillage and dust generation.
The LOBESTAR®
shear mixer is an efficient device that
will unload, convert and dissolve a powder into a concentrated slurry,
and convey the slurry from a railcar to an active process system or
storage tank. |
