Water soluble polymers, starches and resins are used extensively throughout the Process Industries for a broad range of applications. The ability of a fluid or slurry to perform a specific function is dependent on proper mixing and shearing of the chemical additives introduced to a primary fluid. Adequate mixing, entraining and dynamic shearing are essential in providing maximum product performance.

In any treatment process where powders or granular materials are mixed with a liquid the interfacial contact between the primary (motive) flow and the secondary (suction) flow in the mixing chamber of an eductor determines the mix quality. The more stretching and folding, the more interfacial contact. The geometry of the LOBESTAR® JET NOZZLE generates a radial mixing region. The core flow interacts with the lobe flow providing rapid dynamic shearing and turbulent mixing. The intense vortice distribution in the mixing chamber of the LOBESTAR® MIXING EDUCTOR promotes the full potential of the chemical additives. The radial pressure profile downstream from the LOBESTAR® JET NOZZLE energizes the boundary layer in the diffuser section producing an efficient pressure recovery. This translates to a near perfect vacuum (29+ in/Hg) at the suction inlet and a pressure recovery of 72% issuing from the diffuser.

In short, the LOBESTAR® MIXING EDUCTOR provides rapid dispersion, hydration and particle solubility at a high speed rate, free of lumps, fisheyes and microgels. The maximum product performance achieved produces a uniform blend with; clays, pigments, polymers and starches to name a few. Excellent with crystals and granular materials.

Radial Eductor™ (Tank Eductors)
